Planned Network Upgrades on 08.01.2025

// English version: We would like to inform you that we will be carrying out scheduled maintenance on our network next Wednesday, 8 January 2025, from 03:00 to 09:00. As part of this maintenance, we will be replacing our corerouting and coreswitching stack with more powerful devices that will enable us to cope with growth. Due to the redundant network structure, there will be no noticeable outages as planned. However, as these cannot be completely ruled out, we are carrying out this maintenance at a rather uncritical time. We thank you for the trust you have placed in us and would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year!

// German version: Wir möchten Sie informieren, dass wir am kommenden Mittwoch, den 08.01.2025, ab 03:00 Uhr bis 09:00 Uhr planmäßige Wartungen an unserem Netzwerk durchführen werden. Wir werden im Rahmen dieser Wartung unseren Corerouting- bzw. Coreswitching-Stack durch leistungsfähigere Geräte ersetzen, die uns ermöglichen, dem Wachstum gerecht zu werden. Durch den redundanten Netzaufbau wird es planmäßig nicht zu merkbaren Ausfällen kommen. Da diese jedoch nicht vollständig auszuschließen sind, führen wir diese Wartung zu einer eher unkritischen Zeit durch. Core-Network Unreachability of multiple servers due to access switch failures

Today there were partial disruptions in our network from around 03:00. This affected several dedicated servers and also three VPS nodes. Unfortunately, due to inadequate alerting solutions for this case, we only became aware of this problem at a late stage, which unfortunately led to a longer resolution time.

The cause of the problem was a JunOS bug that made 4x access switch bundles unavailable. Unfortunately, it took some time to analyze the problem.

We hereby apologize to all affected customers for this outage and offer each affected customer a 3-day credit. At the same time, we will completely revise our alerting solutions for such cases in order to become aware of such problems more quickly.

Core-Network Network problems / Sporadic packetloss

We would like to inform you that there were network problems (sporadic packet loss) affecting our entire network between 21:20 and 21:40. We looked into this problem immediately and were finally able to resolve it. The cause was a problem in connection with the outgoing traffic analysis of our anti-DDoS deployment. This has now been fully resolved. We apologise to all our customers for this problem.
